ERSG is currently looking for experienced HSE Advisor for a contract role in Norwich.

Ideal candidate should have more then 3 years expedience ideally from onshore renewables/windfarm construction background and Nebosh (min level 3).

The role is onshore site based supporting the Cable Route and National Grid interface scope at Swardeston Norwich and is expected to work on site or at the site office daily. Flexibility is required for occasional off project site visits for company and supplier internal/external meetings, which may also be overseas.

  • The normal shift pattern is a 5-day week (Monday - Friday), 8-hour days.
  • There may be some flexibility for occasional working from home if authorised by project management.
  • Applicants must be local to the project and are expected to live within 60 minutes travel time of the site.

The HSE advisor promotes and provides professional expert knowledge and guidance to managers, supervisors, employees and contractors on safe work practices, safety standards, and legal regulations, and supports identification and elimination of potential hazards and ensures control measures are in place.

Responsibilities:

  • Promoting a good proactive HSE culture through leading by example,
  • Audit/compliance check (ISO 9001/14001/45001/55001)
  • Review of HSE documentation, Risk Assessments & Method Statements (RAMS)
  • Monitoring and assessment of internal/external HSE compliance
  • Coordinate and report safety inspections, incident investigations, root cause analyses, and report derived observations, risks, and lessons learnt.
  • Effective liaison with contractors at management and site levels to establish and improve safety, health and environmental culture.
  • Participate and contribute to all relevant site HSE meetings.
  • Participate in audits (internal and external)

Deliverables:

  • Facilitation of regular HSE meetings with Contractor and package representatives
  • Review of Risk Assessed Method Statements (RAMS)
  • Operational HSE Assessment
  • Perform HSE induction of Clients Representatives
  • Perform HSE presentations at kick off meetings.
  • HSE walk reports (e.g. using DIT)
  • Entry of incidents and proactive measures in Synergi
  • Other deliverables and as per Project (Q)HSE Risk management processes and AP QHSE Management framework

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years' work experience with HSE, ideally from onshore renewables/windfarm construction
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, strong communication and presentation skills
  • IT literate (Microsoft office package, knowledge of Synergi is an advantage)
  • Knowledge of route cause analysis and incident investigation
  • Demonstrable experience in dealing with 3rd party contractors in relation to HSE.
  • Completed NEBOSH; (minimum level 3), or similar recognized HSE qualification.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the CDM Regulations 2015.
  • In date site safety passport (CCNSG or CSCS)
  • Current clean UK driver's license

About the Role:We are seeking an experienced Wind Turbine Commissioning Specialist to lead and execute commissioning activities for onshore wind projects under the certification and compliance framework of Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI). The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring turbines are commissioned in accordance with project specifications, manufacturer requirements, and regulatory standards unique to the Japanese market. Key Responsibilities:Oversee and execute commissioning activities for wind turbines from mechanical completion to full handover.Ensure compliance with METI requirements, including documentation, inspection processes, and regulatory reporting.Perform functional testing, grid synchronization, and performance validation in collaboration with OEMs and EPC partners.Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during commissioning phases.Coordinate with project managers, site supervisors, and local stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.Prepare and review commissioning documentation, punch lists, and completion reports.Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards throughout all commissioning activities.Provide training and technical support to local teams as needed.Participate in project meetings, technical reviews, and audits related to commissioning and METI compliance.
