• A working knowledge of UK highway and drainage design principles and flood risk assessment
• A working knowledge of applicable UK design codes, standards and guidance for both private and adoptable highway and drainage designs including, for example, Manual for Streets, Design Manual for Roads and Bridges, CIRIA SuDS Manual, Sewerage Sector Guidance, and Local Authority design standards
• Demonstrable relevant experience leading the production of highway or drainage engineering, and general development infrastructure designs delivering Section 38 and 278 highway designs and S104 drainage designs for private sector developments.
• Demonstrable experience leading the production of technical drawings for planning, tender and construction purposes.
• Numerate and software literate with a working knowledge of AutoCAD and 3D modelling software.
• A working knowledge of the legal, planning, and technical consent, adoption and contract procedures for the design and implementation of highway and drainage in new developments and regeneration projects including Section 278, 38 and/or Section 104.
• Ability to undertake an independent holistic lead role on major projects working in conjunction with others including taking responsibility for managing and prioritising workload for a team of engineers and technicians.
