Description

The role of the Product Analyst is to support the Market Wide Half Hourly Settlements (MHHS) Delivery Lead and Business Lead in the definition and production of essential service transition documentation for the Programme. In addition, the Product Analyst will manage the impact assessment of Programme changes and Change Requests on the business and systems.
The role will also support the refinement of existing business requirements that have been designed to support the MHHS Programme or one of the internal project workstreams.

The role will involve collaborating with a known group of stakeholders, within IT and non-IT teams to successfully design, develop and produce new, integrated business processes and workflows for the design, development, and operational support and maintenance of the new MHHS systems.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES


  • Supporting both the MHHS Delivery Lead and MHHS Business Lead to understand and help define service transition requirements.
    * To gather feedback and input to the development of new processes and ways of working.
    * To document the service transition requirements using a combination of proscribed SSE templates and custom deliverables, ot be defined by the Product Analyst.
    * To support the MHHS Leads with the implementation and roll out of the new processes.
    * Assesses impacts or designs business process to accommodate the use of the solution.
    * Undertakes analysis tasks under the leadership of MHHS Delivery Lead.
    * Plan, prioritize, manage, and execute analysis work with a delivery team to regularly achieve cost and timescale targets.
    * Contribute to the execution of user system testing and to the test plans for any large releases.
    * Undertake personal responsibility for IT data security by ensuring that rules and practices are identified.
    * Support the presentation of proposed/in flight systems designs and changes back to the IT and business teams.
    * Identify and assess business and IT risk to the MHHS Project from the wider MHHS Programme itself, or to the MHHS Project from other Distribution initiatives and projects currently running/planned to be run.
    * Prepare succinct reports and communications that are tailored to different situations and audiences, where required.
    * Help protect from cyberattack and data loss by following standards and instructions and by reporting risks and incidents.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

    Desirable Business Knowledge
    * Sound knowledge of the electricity industry and associated technologies.
    * Previous experience of working on Ofgem led Industry Programmes that involve the Data Transfer Network (DTN).
    * Experience from a similar support or development role in supporting business critical systems in a medium/large organisation.
