A regional data center developer is seeking a senior technical manager who will be responsible for overseeing the development, management, and future operation of an upcoming Data Center project.

In this role, you'll be tasked with building strong relationships with both internal and external partners, resolving conflicts, and aligning teams to execute our strategic goals effectively. Your involvement in DC engineering design will ensure project success and create a competitive advantage.

Job Description:

  • Supervise the development, day-to-day management, and future operational aspects of the Data Center (DC).
  • Cultivate partnerships, mediate conflicts, and foster team alignment to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Engage in the design of DC engineering to optimize project outcomes and gain a competitive edge.
  • Establish performance benchmarks and compile comprehensive reports concerning the critical facility's infrastructure.
  • Handle both routine maintenance and critical system emergencies effectively.
  • Contribute to the design, execution, commissioning, and construction of new facilities.
  • Take the lead in technical design and consulting, providing support for the procurement of essential facility components.
  • Initiate and execute projects aimed at enhancing facility capacity, efficiency, sustainability, and dependability.
  • Supervise the Data Center's operations and tackle infrastructure engineering challenges as they arise.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a relevant field, preferably mechanical, electrical, or building services engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in critical facility engineering and operations.
  • In-depth knowledge of Data Center Facilities and critical systems.
  • Familiarity with local regulations and codes for data center design, construction, and operation.
  • Proven experience in managing major facilities incidents.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Japanese.
  • Strong customer service acumen and effective communication with clients and customers.

Nice to Haves:

  • Electrical or mechanical engineering qualifications (Chief Electrical Engineer, Electrical construction management engineer, Mechanical design engineer etc)
  • Experience in managing Mission Critical facilities for a large enterprise or colocation provider.
  • Knowledge of IT services, such as servers, networks, cabling, and platform.
