The Consultant must bring his/her own PC and/or Iphone. External consultants' equipment such as PCs, mobile phones and iPads must always be up-to-date with the latest iOS release. The owner must allow Ørsted's AirWatch security and management software for iPhones and iPads to be installed. The app is mandatory on all mobile devices used by Ørsted staff (including External consultants) to protect them from cybercrime. The owner must grant approval for Ørsted to remove apps, data and access from privately owned equipment if it is deemed to pose a risk in relation to Ørsted's security or the GDPR regulations, if the equipment is lost/stolen, or if the owner ceases to have an active contract with Magnit and/or Ørsted. When an external consultant leaves Ørsted, they must contact the IT Service Desk to remove all Ørsted apps and data. The IT Service Desk can only support privately owned equipment in connection with Ørsted's AirWatch security and management software.

Responsible for planning, administration, management, preparation and execution of electrical works.

Key responsibilities / Tasks / Deliverables

Responsibilities

    • Implementation of the Ørsted Electrical Safety Rules on site, including the safe system of work
    • Advise operationally on high voltage electrical installations to WTG, offshore substations and both HV submarine and onshore cables
    • Oversee safe commissioning of grid connections, onshore substations and associated MV/HV/LV plant and equipment
    • Oversee all MV/HV/LV electrical operational activities to ensure safety, security and integrity of the HV network
    • Contribute to proactive management, good coordination and communication between all parties and that the process works effectively
    • Coordinate MV/HV/LV commissioning activities through the project construction stages

Tasks

    • Ensure compliancy with and managing of Ørsted Electrical Safety Rules
    • Safety coordination in electrical matters
    • Act as senior authorized person
    • Carry out Switching Operations and Lock Out/ Tag out on LV and HV equipment
    • Outage management and network control in collaboration with the Control Engineers
    • Update MV/HV/LV schematic diagrams
    • Inspect work sites and perform site safety inspections and auditing for electrical matters
    • Coordinate with the Lead Commissioning Project Manager to ensure that accurate updates are distributed to the Project Management
    • Manage and coordinate HV/MV/LV commissioning activities
    • Coordinate with National Grid and attend commissioning panel meetings
    • Prepare and check high voltage switching schedules
    • Check method statements for electrical matters
    • Implement and provide training programmes for relevant staff according to the rules
    • Provide technical and engineering advice to working parties for electrical matters
    • Assist different departments in Ørsted when required
    • Attendance at FAT and SAT tests if required

Deliverables

    • Input to the project commissioning management manual and related documents (including pre-commissioning and commissioning quality plans)
    • Participation in different audits
    • Reports from FAT & SAT on the different high voltage equipments
    • Onsite check of switching programs
    • Participation in the planning of resource and work activities
    • Participation in authorizations and assessments of new candidates
    • Deliver inputs to the design phase of the project on technical aspects

Decision authority / Responsibility

  • Say in relation to MV/HV switching and isolations
  • Issue of Ørsted Electrical Safety Rules safety rules documents
  • Management of electrical safety to work onsite

Requirements 320kV Transmission Specialist

    • Appropriate electrical qualification and background related to the authorization scope.
    • Several years of operation and commissioning experience within the field of high voltage electricity, offshore experience preferable
    • Minimum 3 year of working experience within onshore substations systems
    • Able to pass GWO and HUET with CA-EBS course (climbing gear person weight limit - 120kg/264lb). Course paid by Ørsted, but will be deducted from final pay if contract is terminated by candidate/agency within 1 year

  • Can you please confirm that these positions will be in support of Sunrise Wind? Yes.
  • Do you have any rate guidance? Rate has not been confirmed with the HM.
  • Will these roles be offshore and onshore? From the first year to year and half everyone will work mainly onshore on Long Island on the onshore substation where they will be trained up. Afterwards two or three out of the six SER will switch work scope to offshore substation. The ones going offshore would need to have their GWO Certs.
  • If onshore, will per diem be applicable? No.
  • Can you confirm that the all-inclusive rate will include flights and transportation to and from site? Or are those expenses reimbursed? The customer bill rate must be all-inclusive. No expenses.
  • Do we know how often they'd go to Norway? They should be flexible to travel to Norway 1-2 times for some testing of equipment and familiarization of the offshore substation. These trips duration will be for 1-2 weeks.
  • Rotation: 14 days on / 14 days off
  • Location: Long Island but will travel to RI and Norway
