Responsible for all financial aspects within the respective project team and the controlling department, in close coordination with the Project Financial Controllers, the role involves:
- Maintaining the best/most robust view of the project's final cost at all points during execution
- Serving as a business partner to the Project Manager
- Providing the main source of financial data to the Project Financial Controllers
- Performing deviation analyses against forecasts and budgets as part of reporting
- Participating in activities to monitor project risks and opportunities and their potential impact on profitability
- Collaborating with the Project Manager to ensure the project team provides an accurate picture of project progress
- Adopting a commercially-minded approach to identify opportunities for additional work and variation orders
- Structuring projects in a multi-unit environment during the set-up phase
- Tracking various project-related financial items such as taxes, duties, bonds, commissions, indexation, and commodity/currency hedging
- Monitoring production orders from manufacturing facilities
- Seeking opportunities to accelerate cash inflows
- Proficiency in using SAP
The level of responsibility across these areas will vary depending on the individual's seniority.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant financial field, or an engineering background with relevant financial experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in an EPCI/turnkey project environment
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, international setting
- Strong business analysis and problem-solving skills, with a high attention to quality and timeliness
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working with SAP; familiarity with Power BI or similar tools is a plus
- Experience reviewing and understanding contracts and other project-related documentation.
