A global leader in high-performance smart energy technology is seeking an HSSE Advisor to oversee all matters related to Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) in Japan. Additionally, when working on survey vessels, the HSSE Advisor will serve as a medic for project personnel. The HSSE Advisor will report to the HSSE Manager in Japan.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Execute all HSSE duties at locations in Japan and related project sites.
  • Provide first aid and medical treatment at project sites until patients can be transferred to medical facilities.
  • Promote HSSE initiatives, plans, and campaigns.
  • Collaborate with customers and internal departments on HSSE matters.
  • Implement and maintain management systems compliant with ISO9001, 14001, and 45001.
  • Develop HSSE risk assessments, plans, and procedures for projects.
  • Assist in the investigation and reporting of incidents.
  • Participate in management, HSSE, and project meetings.
  • Review customer and contractual HSSE requirements and advise management.
  • Plan and execute HSSE audit schedules.
  • Conduct safety inspections on-site.
  • Assist in the promotion and marketing of services.

Required Skills/Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher.
  • 3 years of professional experience in HSSE-related roles.
  • Business level English for conversations, email correspondence, document review and creation.
  • Native-level Japanese language skills (reading, writing, speaking).

Desired Skills/Qualifications

  • Related degree such as safety and health management, environmental management, risk management, or engineering.
  • Experience and qualifications as a paramedic, emergency medical technician, offshore medic, or nurse in an emergency department in Japan.
